Alternative
Medicine
Many people utilize main stream medicine for diagnosis and basic
information, while turning to alternatives for what they believe
to be health-enhancing measures.Studies indicate that alternative
approaches are often used in conjunction with conventional medicine.
This is referred to by NCCAM as integrative (or integrated)
medicine because it "combines treatments from conventional
medicine and CAM for which there is some high-quality evidence
of safety and effectiveness.

Early
Child Health Care
Children have not always been in the valued position they hold
now in most families. In the past the well being of children
depended on the economic and cultural conditions of the society.
In times of economic instability children were viewed as expendable. For
example in Europe, after the weakening of the Roman Empire children
were sold to pay off parent’s debt. In other societies
children were greatly valued.

Pregnancy
Medication
Drugs used during pregnancy can have temporary or permanent
effects on the fetus. Therefore many physicians would prefer
not to prescribe for pregnant women, the major concern being
over teratogenicity of the drugs. Drugs have been classified
into categories A,B,C,D and X based on the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) rating system to provide therapeutic guidance based on
potential benefits and fetal risks.
